I realize it's been a while since I've posted anything here. SO, in case anyone was wondering:
Nothing major has been happening lately, and luckily I don't have too much work this month. Work in the ICU (when there is work to do) is interesting, but seeing patients die is taking a toll on me, especially with a new "record" being broken: first time someone my age dies. The worse part is that when the patient was conscious, I was able to communicate with her, so she wasn't only a body with wires all around, which sometimes helps to distance yourself from what's happening. The only positive thing was that her death wasn't sudden, so I (and her family, I presume) had time to get used to the idea.
Apart from that, I really do like the ICU. The doctors and interns are very nice and most take their time to explain, which wasn't always the case in my last internship.
Anyway, I don't have to go to the hospital this week (only class), so I'm hoping (though I can't seem to keep my resolutions) that I'll be able to do some writing.
ETA: I just saw that I am in the top five for the Reviewer Award for this year's
dmhgficexchange! Not that brightened my day! And congratulations to the real winner,
