I am Elinor Dashwood!

Take the Quiz here!

Well, it's fairly easy to cheat on this test, as most of the questions relate to situations directly taken from the book, I tried to be as honest as possible and voilà!

Elinor is not my favorite Austen heroine (I like Elizabeth Bennet best, but I didn't have much hope to end up being her anyway), but I'm still quite happy. She's a dependable, mature person, though I don't think I'm quite as restrained as her when it comes to showing my feelings (I am most certainly the most communicative of my siblings, which would make me more of a Marianne Dashwood in that aspect).

This quiz made me think of how movie adaptations changed my opinion of some Austen novel. It took the recent Northanger Abbey adaptation for me to like the book, but now it's my favorite behind Pride & Prejudice. As for Emma, I couldn't stand the character in the book, but after watching Clueless (modern adaptation of Emma, it's a classic!), I couldn't help but love the heroine.

So, which Austen heroine are you?

I took the quiz! I got Marianne. With the exception of playing the paino forte, it was right on the money!

That's pretty neat, and it's funny to see how situations taken from nineteenth century books can apply to us two centuries later!

So, do you want to learn how to play the piano now?
